Plont’s Scan accepts a live camera capture or a photo from your gallery. Sign in with your email code, then open Scan. Identification has usage limits; review your available allowance in the app.
You can choose Browse instead if you know the name or want to compare plants in the collection. Both paths need an account.
Give the plant room in the photo
- Choose one plant as the subject. Move other plants and distracting objects out of the frame where practical.
- Use enough light to see leaf shape and detail, and hold the camera still so the photo is clear.
- Check the image before submitting. If the leaves are blurred or hidden, take another photo.
These are practical photo tips, not an accuracy guarantee. Plont cannot promise a correct identity from every image.
A likely name is a starting point
Compare the result with the plant in front of you. Look at leaf shape, growth habit and the scientific name, and check a reliable plant guide or nursery label before following species-specific advice.
If the result seems wrong, keep the uncertainty visible. Browse the catalog to compare candidates, or ask a knowledgeable grower with clearer photos. A suggested name does not establish that a plant is edible or safe for a pet.
After the name, learn the next check
Once you are comfortable with its identity, review its care information and add it to your plants. Record what you know about its starting point, including anything you are unsure about.
You can then choose a care check and return to your observations. Learn how Plont’s care reminders work, or read the soil-grown pothos watering guide if that is your plant.
